Discipleship Resources

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity." 2 Peter 3:18

Current Discipleship Classes Offered (Beginning 9/12/21):

The Way of the Master
Led by Joel Dawson

Are you unsure about how to share your faith? In this study you will learn, and practice, how to effectively share your faith.

Overcoming Racism Through the Gospel
Led by Dr. Melvin Johnson

In this 10-session course, Dr. Johnson will highlight issues that serve to address "root cause" events, matters, and circumstances from the Biblical perspective. It is time for the Body of Christ to properly equip itself to effectively and sincerely address the most divisive issue plaguing humanity, by studying human and Biblical history.
*Note - this course is also available for college credit through the Christian Life School of Theology. For more information on receiving college credit, please contact the Church Office.

Keeping the Heart
Led by Dennis Vosburg

In his book Keeping the Heart, John Flavel centers his teaching on Proverbs 4:23 and maintains that it is our great responsibility as Christians to watch our hearts and guard them against sin and lifelessness in spiritual duties.  This watchfulness also results in a more joyful and victorious life that adorns the Gospel with beauty.  Come join us as we learn how to do this together!

Mama Bear Apologetics (Ladies only)
Led by Terri Holder

What's a Mama Bear to do when her kids seem to be absorbing the culture's lies uncritically? This class will equip you to teach your kids how to form Biblical beliefs about what is true and what is false. You will learn how to teach them to think through and address issues head on, yet with gentleness and respect.

Is God Real? (Men only)
Marc Holder

This class on Apologetics (from the Greek, "being prepared to give a defense) will deal with four questions that the world often asks: 1.) Does truth exist?  2.) Does God exist?  3.) Are miracles possible?  4.) Is the New Testament reliable?

The class is based on Frank Turek's presentation and much of his work may be found on podcasts at www.crossexamined.org. Frank is the author of "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" and much more. We will delve into these topics in our effort to be ready to provide a defense to the questions and skepticism of the world. The class should last about six weeks, depending on how fast we move. Hopefully, this introduction to Apologetics will shore up why we believe what we do, why our faith is secure, and explain to the world just how much proof is out there. You will find it most interesting that science is on our side!
