Our Strategy

Simple Church Process Chart.JPG

Our ministry strategy here at Second is designed around our purpose statement, "For the glory of God: Loving God, Loving Others, & Making Disciples". Our purpose statement is not only WHAT we do, but HOW we do what we do. It is an intentional, straight-forward process, designed to move our church members along a simple process to become ever-growing disciples of Christ.

"Loving God" (Corporate Worship)

This stage of the process is known as the "front door" to the church. This is the part of our ministry through which most people enter the church. We Love God by worshiping Him together. We have intentional programs, ministries, & events that are designed to move people from corporate worship to the next stage of our ministry process, "Loving Others".

"Loving Others" (Small Group Bible Study/Sunday School)

Our small group Bible Study ministry is how we accomplish the Loving Others part of our ministry strategy. Our Bible Study ministry is designed to bring together those who are going through a similiar life stage. For example, young to middle-age adults who might be married with children are encouraged to join our Builders Sunday School class. There, they will study the Word of God together, walk through life's journey together, & come alongside one another in times of joy, sadness, struggle, or celebration. Through our Bible Study groups, members are encouraged to "do life together". Our Bible Study groups are also the primary avenue through which ministry opportunities are made known. There are intentional programs, ministries, & events that are designed to move people from our Bible Study groups to the next stage of our ministry process, "Making Disciples".

"Making Disciples" (Meaningful Ministry)

Making Disciples is the ministry portion of our strategic discipleship process. This stage of our process is where members have have the opportunity to join in meaningful ministry, such as teaching, serving on a committee or ministry team, be a part of a mission project, sing in the choir, or any other area of ministry. Through this process, members are trained, mentored, & encouraged. Produced from this portion of our ministry process are intentional programs, ministries, & events that are designed to move people into corporate worship, which continues the ongoing process of discipleship.
